VeryGames have become the first side through to the final at DreamHack Valencia following a comfortable 2-0 victory against x6tence. The Spanish side, who had dominated the 1.6 scene in their country for many years, have only recently switched to CS:GO, and they showed against VeryGames that they still fall short of the big guns as they were picked apart by the Frenchmen. Unlike what happened in previous matches, VG opted for a more conservative approach to the game, but their constant variation of pushes and splits caused x6tence all sorts of problems as they went up 12-3 at the break. The second half was merely a repeat of what had happened in the initial stages of the game, with VG picking up the four rounds they needed, conceding just one in the process, to win de_nuke 16-4. De_inferno then followed, an unfamiliar ground as the map had not yet been played in the tournament. If the first map had been unbalanced, this one was even more so, as VeryGames' strong Terrorist play saw them take a whopping 13 rounds in the first half against a helpless x6tence side. The French team were keen to put an end to the match and opted for some aggressive strategies as CT, which put the final nail in the coffin as they secured a 16-2 victory. DreamHack Valencia 2012Best of 2 VeryGames are now waiting for the other semi-finalist, which will be determined in Sunday morning's clash between NiP and k1ck. |
